Does anyone know?
Does anyone have any information for Mary?
Hello BE Net,
I am a descendant of David and Mary Cox who arrived in Melbourne on board the Ontario in 1854, with their son, Walter Cox (a.k.a. Walter Scrivener), aged 7 years.
They were living in the Ballarat East area when their daughter, Rose Cox (later married John Simpson) was born in 1855 at Warrenheip.
Hope Cox (married William James Boreham) was born next in 1858 and Frances Maria (married Walter Congress) was born in 1864 also at Warrenheip.
David and Mary Cox were residing in Victoria Street Ballarat East at the time of their deaths, respectively, 1900 and 1893.
They are buried in the Ballarat New Cemetery (C of E Block C, Section 9, Grave 12).
David Cox’s parents were also in the area; they were Richard and Rebecca Cox.
Walter married in 1869 and moved to the Jindivick area. The Cox’s stayed in the Ballarat East area.
I was hoping to find out more about the family, such as, were there anymore children of David and Mary Cox?
What occupations, schools etc., were the family involved in?
Hope you can help me with my research.
Thank you for listening to my ramble.
Yours sincerely
Mary O’Neil
