And we are back…
Hello Easties,
have you missed us? The last 12 months have been very trying for me (Erin) personally, with the loss of both my gorgeous mum and my darling dad. Hence no posts, email troubles and the rise of the facebook page. It hasn’t stopped the over development of the East though!
Now seems a perfect time to kick start our web presence again, with the City of Ballarat starting the long overdue planning strategy for the East. You’ll remember we had been lobbying for the same for approx 5 years now, and we are grateful that it has finally begun.
What can you do to help Ballarat East Network (BE Net)
- send in your images of the East for us to share info@ballarateast.net
- join us online using #ballarateast #BENet whenever you post anything about our beautiful area
- follow us on facebook https://www.facebook.com/ballarateast.net
Please share links and posts as much as possible and invite folk to like the facebook page. It all helps spread the word to support the East – residents, visitors, supporters and friends.
Here is a Koala from a local in Fussell St Ballarat East that gives evidence of the importance of our Koala Overlay. Remember to leave out some water for thirsty wildlife.
We were alerted to this visitor in our garden by our dog which happened to be on its lead at the time. The water dish we left out for birds brought us a surprise we never expected as we haven’t seen a koala in our garden for eight years. This event highlights the importance of dogs having a secure enclosure or run when living within a koala overlay area. This koala was also able to freely visit the gardens of neighbours due to koala friendly fencing. We are so lucky living in ‘The East’!
i don’t know how u got a picture that my mum took in our back garden and never shared what has the internet come to these days.
Thanks Liza, this image was taken by Dianne Chester. Send in your mum’s though by all means.
Good to see you back in BEN action Erin. I’m so sorry to hear about your Mum and Dad.
Thanks Linda, it was a big awful year however they were proud of all we have accomplished here on BE Net (note: BEN is the Ballarat Environment Network). Dad would ask if I had been out stirring the possums again! haha! See you Thursday at the Community Workshop!
Great to see you back Erin. Yes you have been missed!! Thanks for resuming the good work!
Thanks Alice, looking forward to reconnecting. You coming to the Community Workshop on Thursday? Cheers Erin
Yes Erin. Only just saw this. It will be interesting to see how the next stage unfolds. Alice
Yes, Erin, you have been sorely missed. It’s good to have you back. So sad to hear about the loss of your parents.
