Happy Happy Happy
Dear Easties and supporters,
This post marks the 5th year of Ballarat East Network, and our 4th year of this website, with multiple posts every week, and a regular enews email out every weekend (almost).
Just WOW.
We have 200+ subscribers, approaching our 350th post, over 27,000 comments and such a bright future for this beautiful area. That said though, holidays are traditionally its a time when yellow notices pop-up and trees get cut down, so stay vigilant.
We have had some wins and some loses this year, however the overall picture is a positive one. Please consider sharing this site with your family and friends and neighbours. Send in any stories or pictures you have about the East. And please let us know about any developments you are concerned about.
Thank you all for the wonderful support you have given to Ballarat East, and thanks to those who have sent in stories and information, that is what the network is all about.
What we still have to keep an eye on:
- Loss of parkland at Pennyweight Park. Erin attended the last council meeting and asked for clarification on the process. We’ll get back to you on this one. Check the background story here: http://ballarateast.online/topics/community/pennyweight-park/
- Future of the old Ballarat East Town Hall Gardens. The Courier made the public announcement here: http://www.thecourier.com.au/story/2760660/ballarat-secondary-colleges-barkly-campus-to-close/ However we had announced it much earlier: http://ballarateast.online/ballarat-east-town-hall-gardens-considered-suplus/ You can see more of the gardens here: http://ballarateast.online/ballarat-east-town-hall-gardens/
- Future of the Canadian State Forest. Background here: http://ballarateast.online/topics/public-areas/canadian-forest/
Above all have a fabulous safe and happy festive season.
Happy Christmas with love from Erin
