Hello Easties and supporters,
As we are all aware the planning here is non-existant. And with new regs coming in this year that will affect zoning, its time for us to put up (because we will not shut up)…
Here’s how it will work… Each week a post will be put up asking you a question. You just need to make a single point in a single comment, and you can make as many comments as you like. At BE Net we will collate your answers and deliver them to council and highlight them on our website so that the community, the council, the developers can see clearly how we view our area and what needs to be done to protect it.

Ballarat East is a direct physical link to Goldfields history – the miner’s cottages, the street names, the churches not on corners!
Quirky streets, organically grown. I love how the oldest streets follow original walking/cart tracks.
Native plant and wildlife just over the fence.
Sense of community connectedness – a shared concern for character and assets.
Large yards, diverse gardens with vegies and big trees.
Semi rural character – large chunks of bushland attracting wildlife.

Green / treed spaces, walking tracks, bike paths. The things which encourage people outdoors where they meet & mix with others in the community.
open space. streets that just ‘grew’, not surveyed. random mix of housing. big yards. rural-ish atmosphere.
