Fussell Street Reserve
“This summer season has seen the Fussell Street Reserve, opposite the WildLife Park in Ballarat East, kept well mown and tidy by the Ballarat City Council. This has been very pleasing indeed. BE Net looks forward to further beautification here with a seat and tree plantings promised for later in the year. We are already seeing different types of ducks visit the pond here and consider further improvements will contribute to making it a worthwhile spot for a visit or to have a quiet sit and ponder as you pass by.”CheersAlice
Yeah it does look good though! And great to see our council at work! People who care make calls, usually many calls, they write, email and help out! We love that people care enough to notice! Thanks everyone, please continue to do what you can, Ballarat East loves you for it!
Developers contribute 5% of the property value to an Open Space Fund. Given all the development surrounding this reserve, it is about time it was beautifully landscaped with a path and seats. Don’t wait for council to decide to do something. Write to the council person in charge of open space AND Councillors. The money is there waiting – it does not have to be budgeted for and if they don’t have the staff they can pay the money to private contractors and subsequently create jobs in Ballarat in the process.
