Snap Send Solve
Here is a very smart little app for those with smart phones. its called Snap, Send, Solve and it supports residents to send information to council about issues that need to be resolved around the neighbourhood.
Its free, used by over 50,000 people around Oz to report issues directly to council. Its also incredibly simple to use. Simply take a pic of the problem, add an issue from a drop-down menu, the phone adds your location and suggests the closest council, and then sends to the council. See? Easy!
It’s currently up for a Melbourne Design Award. Things that can be reported is anything that you feel the council is responsible for e.g. potholes, rubbish, parking, street cleaning, noise, trees or general requests. Recently at BE Net we have reported abandoned cars, and have seen them cleared away. Adding your details is optional, however to send the report you will need to send from your email account.
You can download the app from the app store on your smart phone. Test it, see how it works, and then let us know here if you have reported anything. Good luck good neighbours.
I thought this App was a great idea and sent several reports to the City of Ballarat with images of broken windows, missing fire equipment and graffiti at the Civic Hall. But, must say, I had no response, and nothing was done until quite recently the graffiti was removed.
We have always had a great response using this app. There is also the City of Ballarat app you can see here: http://ballarateast.net/on-the-go/
