Spitalfields Life
Given all the talk recently about the old Ballarat East Town Hall Gardens, I thought I would share with you what I found online today. Joan Brown wrote her first objection letter at the age of 97. It’s never too late, you can never be too tired, you can never be too busy…
Joan has taken the time and shared her love of what is important. You can do the same. Here is the story about Joan on the site called Spitalfields Life. And we thank them for sharing Joan with us.

It’s up to all of us to take a stand in the East against over-development. we may not have the built heritage of Europe, but what we do have is beautiful environmental heritage, a green belt with a history as old as time, with eclectic buildings and ramshackle streets, trees a plenty and a beautiful chaos that has enticed me since a kid.
It is important.
I notice with sadness that now three families have sold up in one block of York Street due to developments that have not even been passed yet. Please don’t let it happen to you, help your neighbours out by supporting sustainable development in Ballarat East.

I love this place – and what a great story. Thanks for sharing it.
