Rediscovery of Avenue of Honour in Ballarat East

Rediscovery of the Arthur Kenny Avenue of Honour.

 

At 2.30pm on Friday August 3rd 2012 there will be an official ceremony at Fussell St, Mt Xavier.
Followed by Afternoon tea at the Mt Xavier Golf Club.
Warm clothes recommended for the official ceremony which will honour the Ballarat Orphanage boys who fought in the First World War.

Parking is in Elford Street and visitors are asked to cross the bridge at the corner of Fussell St, walk up the hill and gather at the memorial site. There will be signs. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at Mt Xavier Golf Club.

 

Earlier that morning there will be a gathering at Eureka Stockade hall for the those who lived in the orphanage between the 60s and 80s. Contact Sharon Guy at CAFS on 03 53373392 if this applies to you.
