ALP announce State Park

Today on the corner of York and Long Streets in beautiful Ballarat East, the state Labor Party announced plans that, if elected, they will declare Canadian State Forest a State Park as a way to protect it into the future. Along with the announcement came two million dollars to do the work needed to repair and reconnect the forest, again if elected.

Pork-barreling? Of course! It is election time after all! No detail on how and what, but we know the why! However if it comes to fruition it will be the culmination of a huge amount of blood, sweat and tears by the Friends of Canadian Corridor (FoCC) and everyone who has worked so hard to illuminate the issues in Ballarat East, unique, fabulous and in danger.

the Team

Here are the important folk at the announcement today; the fabulous Friends of Canadian Corridor fearless leaders Jeff Rootes, Blake Gordon & Bob Hartmann with others in the background Daniel Andrews Leader of the Opposition and Geoff Howard MP State Labor Member for Ballarat East.

The Crowd

Local members of FoCC and BE Net were in attendance to hear the good news along with the media.
