Due this week

Submissions, objections, are due this week for Wilson Street folks…

Keep your end up, don’t let apathy allow such a greedy destructive subdivision to proceed.

You do not have to live beside this development to make a submission about it!

You do not have to be directly affected by it to make a submission about it!

If you think this is good for Ballarat then do nothing!

If you believe, as many of us Easties do, that this development is an over-development of this area then do any or all of the following:

  • inform yourself about what the developer has planned:
    1. go to https://eservices.ballarat.vic.gov.au/ (or click on link)
    2. click on “Town Planning Applications”
    3. select “Town Planning Applications on Advertising” then click ‘Next’
    4. click on the application ‘809 Wilson Street’
    5. click on link: VIEW APPLICATION DETAILS HERE Then you will be taken to a list of downloadable PDFs, the main one is the “Plan of subdivision” and the ‘Response to Neighbourhood Residential Zone’
  • talk to the City of Ballarat council officers to make sure you understand what is happening:
  • send an email to us for inclusion on meeting times of neighbours to discuss action from here!

NOW

Click on “Lodge A Submission” and tell the council what you think about this development…

You will need to do so by 21st August 2014, or else you will need to do it in writing!

Just put in a submission registering my objection to this application.
I was speaking to a person who built in Mt Clear beside the Canadian forest.
They were supposed to pay to offset the trees they removed to build their house. They did contribute to tree planting but this was never followed up by the company arranging the offset! So, how do we know that trees will really be planted to replace vegetation removed in Wilson street??

We brought a house in Wilson st 6 years ago. One of the draw cards to the area was the beautiful landscape and quite streets to raise our family. Since then we have been boxed in with town houses and the large development currently underway over the road. To hear there is more developments plans makes me think it maybe time to move.

On the merry-go-round again. But this lovely land is well worth protecting from cityfication. I have put my objection in, and hope that others will remember to do so by Thursday 21st Aug, JUST 2 DAYS AWAY. Thank you to those who have already done this.
