Exceptional Trees from Gladys

It is SO GREAT when we get emails with information to share. Gladys was been wandering the east looking for trees to add to the Register of Exceptional Trees. We want a heap in from the East. Hello BE Netters,

I have nominated several trees for the tree register. There are several old and magnificent gums along the Scott Parade walking track also a lovely old oak down near the Ballarat East railway station. Another one I nominated was a beautiful gum on the walking track between Richards Street and Kline Street. Another tree is an old gum in Wilson St  which will be under threat if the adjacent development goes through. Attached are some of the photos albeit taken on a very dull day.

All these trees are well worth preserving. To nominate them I have taken in filled out forms with photos to Council however my nominations were short on detail re: species, botanical name, bark type and such, and other requirements most ordinary people would have trouble finding out about, so I gave good directions where each tree is located and pointed out that the council arborist would have no trouble identifying those details once they have a look at the trees.
