Greening Ballarat
“Greening Ballarat through local water management”.
There are excellent opportunities in Ballarat to support urban greening through local stormwater management that provides water to plants while also protecting our waterways and reducing urban runoff.
The City of Ballarat is engaging with its community and stakeholder groups to hear your ideas on where and how to deliver these dual outcomes.
The City would like to invite you to participate in a workshop that will set a vision for future activities and identify Ballarat specific opportunities for integrated delivery of greening and water management.

Date: Wednesday 15th April
Time: 9:15am to 12:30pm, followed by lunch
Location: Trench Room, Level 1 – Ballarat Town Hall
Please note a second workshop will be arranged approx. May 2015 to view an analysis of the identified options, to determine priorities and explore barriers and the actions required to implement the integrated delivery of greening and water management in Ballarat.
This initiative has stemmed from the outcomes of the Ballarat Imagine surveys which indicated the Ballarat community’s ambitions for urban greening and connectivity, and the Ballarat and Region Water Future (Department of Environment and Primary Industries, 2014) which highlighted there is a significant stormwater resource opportunity in Ballarat, even in a dry year, in excess to the flow regime of downstream environments.
